Artist Statement
My work stems from the void of the heart… the empty space where the magic exists. It’s the spaciousness from which all things emerge and to which all things return.
Each piece holds silence within form, stillness within color. The canvas becomes a threshold, an opening through which viewer and viewed dissolve into seeing itself.
To create is to participate in the mystery of wuji—the undifferentiated source before the ten thousand beings arise. Beautiful and un-beautiful lose their boundaries here. There is only this: the eternal process of transformation, where nothing is fixed, nothing final. What appears today as beauty may tomorrow reveal decay. What disturbs now may later calm. This is the wisdom of water, which wears away stone not through force but through patient, persistent presence.
The therapeutic power of art flows from the void of the heart – this is Alchemical Art. When we pause before art, we practice ting—deep listening, the receptivity that heals. We remember our original nature before society carved us into shapes of constant striving. We taste Wu Wei—not laziness, but the effortless action that comes when we move with the current rather than against it.
In our age of fracture and fever, art offers return to source. Not escape from chaos, but recognition that chaos and order are lovers in an eternal embrace.
My invitation is simple and impossible: Stop. Look. Forget yourself long enough to remember yourself. Let these images be portals rather than objects, mirrors rather than monuments. In the space between your breath and the canvas, something nameless awaits—older than language, deeper than thought, intimate as your own heartbeat.
This is the art of no-art. The doing that is non-doing. The path that is no-path.
